My name is Elena Giardina. I’m an early career journalist.

I am a Northeastern University graduate with a B.A. in Journalism and English. I previously held a full-time co-op position at The Boston Globe, where I spent six months writing for their print and digital Arts, Living Arts, Books, and Food & Dining sections. During my time as a correspondent, I interviewed up-and-coming musicians, prominent local arts leaders, and Pulitzer Prize-winning authors. I reported on some of that summer’s most buzz-worthy arts affairs, and I even made an appearance on Boston Globe Today. You can read some of my stories in the Reporting tab, or you can check out my Boston Globe author page here.
Before my time at The Globe, I was the editor-in-chief of Artistry Magazine, Northeastern University’s student-led arts and culture publication, where I edited articles about music, film, visual art, and theater. I’ve been employed by The Associated Press as an election stringer, and I’ve worked at a B2B public relations firm, as well.
When I’m not writing and reporting, I love going to concerts, rollerblading along the water, reading on long train rides, and lounging on the beach.
